ID-MET Trial Prescreening
Thank you for your potential interest in the Identifying Multiscale Mechanisms for Age-Related Increase in Metabolic Cost of Walking, or ID-MET, study sponsored by a National Institute on Aging (NIA) at the National Institutes of Health (RFAG096055).
The ID-MET study is a collaboration between Florida Institute for Human and Machine Cognition and the Georgia Institute of Technology. The study is interested in understanding how aging affects the way that we walk.
Time Commitment: 4-5 study visits, 9-12 total hours of commitment. Visit time ranges from 1-3 hours.
Study Description:
The goal of the study is to take a multidomain approach to understanding how aging changes the way we walk, combining traditional biomechanics with molecular and physiological data to gain a fuller picture of how this shift takes place — and what it costs our bodies to make it. We are looking for people with a range of fitness levels from sedentary to highly athletic who are:
- Aged 18-30 years.
- Age 65 and older.
- Be generally healthy.
- Be capable to provide informed consent.
- Interested in participating? Ready to get started?
- If you would like to join this study, please click the link to the prescreening form below. The form has a few questions that determines eligibility and once you submit the form you will receive an automatic email response if you qualify or not.
