Optics and Jello Lenses by Dr. Peter Polack, Ocala Eye

December 4, 2021

IHMC's December Science Saturday was about “Optics and Jello Lenses”. This session was led by ophthalmologist Peter Polack, assisted by Cheryl Polack. Students learned about the evolution of the eye. They did experiments related to blind spots, optical illusions, and lenses. They observed the dissection of a pig’s eye, and were able to look through the lens of the dissected eye. High school student volunteers from several Marion County high schools assisted. Photos by Brooke Heller.
