Food- What’s In It? by Dr. Sunny Ferrero, Rasmussen College

November Science Saturday was “Food- What’s In It?, ” by Dr. Sunny Ferrero, Biology Professor at Rasmussen College. Hands-on activities included analyzing ingredient labels, tasting chocolate (white, milk, semi-sweet and cocoa beans) for actual chocolate content, examining and and tasting filtered vs. unfiltered apple juice, and rating similar foods for nutritional content using visual clues. The current season of Science Saturdays is made possible by Ron and Phyllis Ewers and by Lockheed Martin, and is enhanced by participation from Marion County High School volunteers.
