Nomi is a mechatronics engineer for the Nadia group. Their research interests revolve around applying optimization techniques to improve robot design and physical modelling. Nomi also works on mechanical designs and integration between hardware and software.
Nomi joined IHMC in September 2020. They graduated from the California Institute of Technology with a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering. During that time, they interned with various robotics groups including the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and Caltech’s CAST, in which they focused on mechanical integration and structural design.
In their free time, Nomi enjoys cooking Chinese cuisine, longboarding, and hanging out with their cats, Busket and Piddles.
