Jairun Diemert

Research Associate

Jairun Diemert is a Research Associate at the Florida Institute for Human and Machine Cognition (IHMC), where he works at the intersection of artificial intelligence, data visualization, and human-centered computing. Since joining IHMC in 2021, Jairun has led and contributed to projects spanning autonomous data pipelines, network security analytics, explainable AI, and edge-based machine learning systems.

Jairun holds a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity with a concentration in Software Engineering from the University of West Florida. Prior to entering the research domain, he spent nearly a decade in financial services, cultivating a systems-level understanding of operational trust, security, and decision-making under uncertainty.

At IHMC, his work has included contributions to visualization platforms for netflow data, interpretable transformer models for structured reasoning, Logic Tensor Network research, and developing AI systems that integrate symbolic and statistical methods—such as a modular judging framework for competitive breakdancing using deep learning and logical constraints.

Outside the lab, Jairun brings the same creativity and discipline to breakdancing (B-boying), where he has competed nationally for over 20 years. Known among colleagues for delivering unfiltered truth often seasoned with wit, Jairun exemplifies a fearless, solutions-first approach to innovation.
