Christopher Kelzer joined IHMC in October 2025 as part of the reception team. He is a graduate of the University of West Florida with a bachelor’s degree in marine biology. He hopes to pursue a mix of laboratory and field work in marine biology and was a seasonal aquarist at the Gulfarium Marine Adventure Park in Destin, Fla., and worked as an intern at the Coral National Gene Bank in Sarasota, Fla., where he maintained a wet lab and oversaw species curation, as well as assisting in daily husbandry activities associated with mesophotic coral species care and management. He also participated in data processing from ocean warming and acidification research projects.
