Front Desk Staff Assistant

Ben Smith joined IHMC in 2025 as part of the support staff team. He is a graduate of the University of West Florida, where he earned both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in interdisciplinary humanities. He earned a master of education in middle level mathematics at UWF and is pursuing a master’s in data science and modeling at UWF. Ben has 15 years of experience implementing action research, collecting behavioral data and teaching mathematics and statistics. He joined IHMC to apply his skills in data manipulation, statistical modeling, and communication skills to the Institute’s research on stress, resilience, and performance in extreme environments. Currently Ben is also supporting research activities, including conducting research in computational biology, multiOmics/mixOmics, with Jeremy McAdam.
