Postdoctoral Research Fellow

Diana Muller joined IHMC in October 2026 as a postdoctoral researcher with the Healthspan, Resilience, and Performance team under the mentorship of Drs. Marcas Bamman and Zachary Graham. She is currently involved in research projects focused on skeletal muscle biology, mitochondrial function, and adaptations to physiological stressors. She also aims to develop her own research direction, with a particular interest in understanding the interactions between skeletal muscle and the immune system in the context of aging and exercise.

Originally from Brazil, Diana earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Exercise Science from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul before completing her PhD in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology at the University of Florida in 2026. Her doctoral research focused on the role of inflammatory mediators in sepsis-induced myopathy.

Outside of research, Diana enjoys working out, spending time with family and friends, going to the beach, and enjoying a good cup of coffee.
