Research Scientist

As a Software/Drone Developer with IHMC’s National Center for Collaborative Autonomy, I am responsible for designing, building and programming the next generation of unmanned aerial vehicles. This highly hands-on role involves both hardware integration and the development of advanced flight behaviors, encompassing the physical assembly of custom drone platforms and the development of flight software. My primary duties involve integrating sensors and subsystems, alongside writing clean, maintainable code to implement and test autonomous behaviors and drone control logic.

I have a master’s  degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Mexico. I have more than four years of experience in robotics and unmanned aerial systems, with a focus on end-to-end hardware development, flight control, and autonomous navigation.

During my graduate studies, I conducted research at the Multi-Agent, Robotics, and Heterogeneous Systems (MARHES) Lab, where I focused on the sim-to-real transfer of control frameworks for fully actuated unmanned aerial systems (UAS).

Prior to my current role, I worked as a Research and Development Engineer, where I designed and developed high-altitude, heavy-lift autonomous drones and electronic systems for robotic platforms. My technical background spans circuit design, hardware integration, firmware development, and software-in-the-loop simulations.
