Nathan Mertins is a research associate at the Institute for Human and Machine Cognition working in the Robot Lab with Dr. Pratt and Dr. Neuhaus. He started at IHMC as an intern in January 2013 working on DARPA’s Virtual Robotics Challenge.
Nathan received his B.S. from the Florida Institute of Technology (FIT) in 2012 where he studied Physics and Mathematics. At FIT, Nathan participated in research under Dr. Marcus Hohlmann in the high-energy physics lab, and Dr. Ugur Abdulla studying non-linear partial differential equations.
Nathan’s research interests include: partial differential equations, mathematical modeling, and computer simulation techniques.
His personal hobbies include: going to the beach, skateboarding, and playing guitar.
