Brooke Layton is the lab manager, assistant project manager, and research librarian to the IHMC robotics group, serving the group by assisting with the DARPA Robotics Challenge, NASA X1 Exoskeleton, Cybathlon, Grasshopper, Learning Locomotion, M2V2, tBot, FastRunner, and other projects. She also organizes the educational outreach program, TechConnect, which brings teen volunteers into local community centers in hopes of sparking interest in technology and science among elementary students. Brooke received her Master of Science degree in Library and Information Science from Florida State University, with graduate certification in Leadership and Management as well as Youth Services. She received dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Human Computer Interaction and Psychology, as well as certification in Human Resource Management. Brooke was the lead organizer for the Dynamic Walking Conference in both 2012 and 2018, which were hosted by IHMC. She volunteers at local libraries and helps out with the Emerald Coast BEST Robotics competitions. Brooke enjoys traveling, reading, cooking, and spending time with her family.
