IHMC's research is focused on human-centered computing. Our researchers investigate ways to leverage and extend human capabilities using computational tools. Such systems fit the human and machine components together in ways that synergistically exploit their respective strengths and mitigate their respective weaknesses.The design and fit of these tools requires interdisciplinary teams including computer scientists, engineers, cognitive scientists, physicians, and social scientists of various stripes.
